    Indigenous Services Canada employees are expected to perform their duties from a government of Canada physical workplace at least 2–3 days each week, or 40–60% of their regular schedule. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.

    Intent of the process

    The staffing process is to fill two indeterminate positions.

    A pool of candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) with various locations, tenure, linguistic profiles or security requirements, which may vary.

    ____________________________________________________________________ EDUCATION
    Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position. *Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g., Master's degree), the term "degree" refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities. OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization * in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization). *The courses for specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

    EXPERIENCE

    Experience in providing technical and strategic engineering advice to clients, management and non-technical stakeholders.
    Experience in contract administration.
    Experience in the technical evaluation of engineering reports.
    Experience in the construction phase services of municipal infrastructure and/or the operation of municipal infrastructure*. *Municipal Infrastructure, which is most prevalent to this position, includes – but is not limited to – water systems, wastewater systems, municipal buildings, roads, stormwater infrastructure, and structural mitigation.

    ASSET EXPERIENCE
    Experience working with First Nations communities.
    Experience participating on a project team delivering multi-year projects.
    Experience in selecting and overseeing engineering consultants and contractors.

    ASSET KNOWLEDGE
    Knowledge of various water and wastewater treatment processes.

    KNOWLEDGE
    Knowledge of project management principles for municipal infrastructure projects.
