About ADM

About the Position

The Sales Manager will be responsible for the farm-direct fertilizer strategy and growth of sales into Canada and will have account ownership for customers in their specified region.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote sales of ADM fertilizer
  • Develop lasting relationships with key customers to maximize sales
  • Consult with key customers regularly regarding fertilizer price outlook and market trends
  • Coordinate sales execution with local terminal employees
  • Promote blended fertilizer and micronutrient sales
  • Assist in regional product procurement when necessary
  • Responsible for proper customer account maintenance, including A/R and logistics for ADM contracts

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Canadian Ag markets
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fastpaced work environment
  • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions
  • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills along with understanding of how to sell to customers
  • Exceptional communication skills; able to communicate with all levels of the organization; portray positive image of self and company at all times
  • Committed to corporate ethics policies and safety programs
  • Team player
  • Positive attitude
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e.
  • Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) and social media communication
  • Proficient in mobile apps and mobile technology used inside our retail platform

Education or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting), supplemented with a range of 0 to 10 years of sales' experience in the marketing of fertilizer commodities or general Ag sector; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Sales background preferred

Additional Information

  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
