Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to - Human Resources Manager

Job Duties Include

  • Arranging rental accommodations, transportation and required appointments for obtaining SINs and MSI for hired temporary foreign workers based on LMIA guidelines
  • Preparing new hire paperwork, including offer letters and confidentiality agreements, and deliver new hire orientation packages
  • Assisting with administering compensation and benefit plans
  • Assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conducting employee onboarding and help plan training & development
  • Maintaining employee records and paperwork
  • Providing support to employees in various HRrelated topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Promoting HR programs to create an efficient and conflictfree workplace
  • Assisting in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertaking tasks around performance management
  • Gathering and analyzing data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Organizing annual employee performance reviews and quarterly attendance reviews
  • Undertaking special projects and additional tasks as required
  • Being an ambassador for the company's vision and values, via appropriate communications and integration into human resource programs as well as help create a positive work environment to support employees and the leadership team
  • Responding to employee and leadership requests for information on a timely basis
  • Providing human resource support and maintain human resource policies and best practices company wide

Qualifications

  • Community College Diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • 1 year of human resources or administration experience in a fastpaced environment considered an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal foreign worker programs, specifically Labour Market Impact Assessment unskilled worker stream
  • Solid computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Superior organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to positively communicate with people at all levels of the organization
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently, organize work and manage time effectively to accomplish objectives in accordance with organization expectations
  • Knowledge of Nova Scotia employment and legislation and Health & Safety laws
