The CAD technician's purpose is to produce full ID packages as required for building permits and/or ID construction. This team member is responsible for the management of all drawing standards and final productionManagement
- Collaborate with the Director and Senior Designer to determine drawing standards for the company
- Monitor workflow and production and collaborate with Senior Designer to meet deadlines
- Helping maintain drawing templates, including but not limited to; details, sheets templates, block library etc
- Oversee formatting and layout of drawings.
- Liaise with Design team working on projects.
- Management of schedule of issue dates.
- Maintenance of Drawing issue schedule.
- Preparation and receipt of drawing packages, plus transmittals
Programming/research
- Research bilaw permit requirements for projects
- Research BC Building code as required for projects
- Conduct site measurements as required for ID drawings and permit
- Conduct photographic site surveys
Drawings
- Working with designers on CAD packages.
- Produce ID drawings (using Autocad) as required for permits and construction including millwork details and RCP
- Preparation of construction drawing packages, including floor plans, finishes plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans, interior elevations, millwork sections and details
- Preparation of furniture drawings and details
- Updating drawings upon receipt of changes by consultants via designer's advisement.
- Ensure that drawing packages correlate with contractual obligations to client
- Maintenance of filing and creating files for incoming/outgoing drawings
- Delivering and distribution of drawings to appropriate parties
- Updating design teams on progress of drawing packages
Working conditions
90% of this position requires standard office hours. 10% requires site visits, measuring, documentation of sites and visiting the city. At times extended hours are required to meet deadlines.

- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD; 57 years experience
- Strong working knowledge of the BC Building Code
- Excellent knowledge of residential construction
- Access to a vehicle/valid BC drivers licence

- Monday to Friday
