Facilities Technician Level I - Ottawa, Canada - OHRI
Description
Facilities Technician level I support the maintenance and calibration of BMC VMF GMP, QC, and R&D equipment and facilities in adherence to GMP guidelines and established internal procedures to ensure QC, and R&D equipment function consistently and as intended by the manufacturer and BMC specifications and practices.
The Facilities Technician I duties:
- Schedules equipment and facility maintenance as per approved calibration and maintenance plans within set timelines.
- Monitors equipment parameters and performs weekly and monthly maintenance as required.
- Participates in sourcing and onboarding of new equipment according to internal procedures, drafts, and review, calibration and maintenance plans, and SOPs
- Plays an active role in deviation reporting, investigation, change control, and CAPA.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
- College Diploma in life sciences, biotechnology
- 13 years of experience working collaboratively in a teambased environment
- Time management skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Flexibility to accommodate periodic demanding deadlines
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of data and protocol requirements
- Computer literacy and knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Superior communication skills with members of the multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
- University Degree in life sciences, biotechnology
- Handson lab or facility experience or knowledge is considered an asset but the ability to quickly gain an understanding of technical information pertaining to facility equipment is essential
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Contract Details:
This is a 2-year full-time position with the possibility of renewal
Salary:
Min $ 21.067/h - Max $ 30.443/h
