We currently have an opening for a
Junior Environmental Scientist in our
Edmonton office.
You are an entry level scientist motivated to gain valuable experience working in a variety of disciplines.
Your passions will include ecology, botany, soils, wildlife, and/or wetlands and you will have a genuine interest in restoration and reclamation.
You enjoy field work and are willing to support data entry, report writing and other office-based tasks.You possess a desire to work in a dynamic team environment on a variety of interesting projects but are also able to take on work independently.

What you will be doing:
- Serving as a field ecologist and contributing technical expertise to a variety of projects including environmental field surveys, reclamation and environmental monitoring.
- Preparing high quality scientific and technical reports, including permits and regulatory documents.
- Supporting permitting and approval processes.
- Managing time and budget for assigned tasks.
- Contributing to business development, proposal writing, and fostering client relationships.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science.
- Preference will be given to individuals who are eligible to obtain their professional designation (e.g., P.Ag., P.Biol.), within 3 to 5 years.
- Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an asset.
- Willingness to work in the field in remote locations.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong time management and organizational ability.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction and take initiative.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Ability to convert plans into action and effectively manage time and deliver on commitments.
- Valid driver's license.
