Come Grow with Us Forsite is actively looking for a Visual Resource Technician/Operational Mapper, with the ability to creatively problem solve spatial challenges, work as a team and independently, and to provide spatial recommendations in a 3D modelling environment.

The position will be based out of our Prince George, BC office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


Operating within Forsite's Resource Management and Technology business area, you will combine forestry knowledge and data analysis to provide focused, innovative and meaningful solutions to our clients.

This includes creating 3D models to provide clients with an idea of how their proposals will look to the public and recreationalists.


Potential project types would include working closely with foresters to provide clients with accurate, detailed, and innovative solutions using the 3D modeling environment.

Problem solving and completing tasks with a high degree of consistency and accuracy is at the heart of what we do.

Experience in working with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, LiDAR derivatives, Photoshop, Field Maps, Python, and remote sensing data would be important qualities in this role.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in a relevant discipline;
Minimum 1 year experience working within ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro;
Experience working with LiDAR derivatives (CHMs, DEMs, and DSMs);
Experience or willing to learn Python scripting;
Experience working within a 3D modeling environment;
ArcGIS City Engine, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unreal Engine experience an asset; and
Experience with operational forestry is an asset.


In addition, you should demonstrate the following:
Able to work efficiently and find ways to improve the visual design process and/or associated workflows;
An eye for design;
Ability to work as a team and independently;
Strong problem solving skills; and
Comfortable with responding to tight deadlines and multiple concurrent projects.
