  • The Police Administration Department requires a regular fulltime Community Police Office Coordinator.
    Responsibilities
  • You are the key contact for the Community Policing Office and will recruit, interview, select, train, schedule and coordinate volunteers; promote the Office and its programs; organize volunteer and community events; monitor the Office's budget; provide clerical and administrative support to the RCMP officers associated with the Office; and provide assistance to the public, including processing Police Information Checks, maintaining files and reviewing complaints taken by volunteers. You will organize and implement community based crime prevention activities and liaise with various community services agencies, government bodies and RCMP members.

Requirements:


  • You must have the ability to type at a net speed of 40 wpm. Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by commercial courses and related experience, preferably in a law enforcement environment, along with supervisory experience are required. Experience in volunteer management and Microsoft Office are also required, along with the ability to monitor budgets. In addition you must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
    Compensation
- $29.70 to $34.96 per hour- (Pay Grade 1
  • January 2021 rates)
    Hours of Work
  • The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each threeweek scheduling cycle.
    Additional Information
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
