We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

Role Purpose

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, schedule and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure safe, reliable and effective operation & maintenance of electrical sytems site wide
  • Provide direction to electrical personnel in the daily operations of the mill, mine and site electrical maintenance activities
  • Guide, coach & mentor direct reports
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Oversee training, supervision, evaluation and provide leadership for the department
  • Supervise preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Provide electrical support to maintenance, production & engineering teams
  • Support Asset Management Best Practice
  • Identify and manage improvement projects
  • Act as the site Subject Matter Expert in electrical systems
  • Assist in authoring and review of electrical maintenance procedures


We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

  • Ensure statutory systems are maintained, audited and treated according to the relevant legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with change management procedures with logs and registers kept up to date and audited regularly;
  • Provide technical support, guidance and coaching to site personnel on best practice and technical matters related to electrical device selection and use.
  • Conduct performance evaluations to identify operational limitations and initiate steps to enhance system performance;
  • Maintain the safety, security and integrity of electrical equipment
  • Provide input to preventative maintenance planning.
  • Propose, prepare and submit regular feedback on work orders resulting from maintenance activities in an effort to improve maintenance plans, records and task lists.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, drawings, change maintenance etc.
  • Assist with review of work drawings, P&IDs and other documentation submitted by I&C, and electrical personnel and contractors
  • Build team skills and maintain training programs
  • Conduct personnel performance evaluations to identify personal limitations and initiate steps to enhance employee performanc
  • Effective conflict resolution and decision making

Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with maintenance, production & engineering teams to achieve common goals
  • Identify & execute minor improvement projects
  • Ensure work is in compliance with company HSE policies and procedures, quality, schedule, security, industry standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to electrical personnel

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment;
  • Minimum qualifications of either:
  • Electrical trade certification with 5 years direct supervisory experience
  • A thorough understanding of:
  • High and Low Voltage electrical distribution systems
  • The CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) Standards including CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety
  • Electrical maintenance and installations best practices
  • Experience in supervision and mentoring of personnel
  • Sound knowledge of M421 Standards (Use of Electricity in mines)
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Proactivity and ability to work independently.
  • Provide quality, detailoriented safety driven results
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and advanced skills in the Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP)
  • Valid driver's license.
