Your opportunity:


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Leading open competitive procurements
  • Facilitating the evaluation process for procurement competitions
  • Working with internal clients in the development and review of specifications or scope of work for procurements
  • Providing award and debriefs to external suppliers
  • Providing guidance on policy and procedures
  • Ability to work well with others and independently

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree plus Post Graduate Certificate or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Five years experience in Public Procurement with a minimum of three (3) years experience in the Ontario Broader Public Sector, leading open competitive procurement
  • Experience in contract analysis, legal review, administration and negotiation
  • Experience with computerized purchasing systems, eProcurement platforms, materials management, eTendering and financial systems (SAP).
  • Experience dealing with various levels in an organization
  • Advanced computer skills:

Microsoft Office:
Excel (advanced formula & functions, pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint

  • Ability to interpret complex concepts, legislation and communicate these to a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong ability to identify critical issues and problem solve independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, tact and initiative
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Confidentiality is mandatory

Assets (Nonessential):


  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of University Policy and Procedures
