Peter Green Hall Children's Centre is looking for 2 Early Childhood Educator Assistants for children aged 3-5.


Job title:
Early Childhood Educator Assistant - Permanent & Full time Position

Location: 1094 Wellington St, Halifax, NS B3H 2Z9


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


To Support Early Childhood Educators in:

  • Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining an environment that protects the health, security and wellbeing of children

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Practice Behavior Guidance Policies implemented in employee handbook
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development training and parent teacher meetings as laid out in the centre's guidelines.

Academic, Training and Experience Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school is required.
Prior experience in the field of Early Childhood Education Experience with the Reggio Emilia Philosophy is an asset.


Security and safety:

Child abuse registry check; Medical exam; Immunization records; Criminal record/vulnerable sector check; First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate;


Salary:
$ $15.00 per hour for 37.5hrs a week at 52 weeks a year

$13.60-$15.00 per hour
