Responsibilities:


  • Manage the daytoday operations in the P&D Dispatch Department.
  • Leads and inspires the City Dispatch Team to achieve operational goals and KPIs.
  • Planning and forecasting of P&D schedules while improving driver stops per hour & reducing overtime.
  • Ensure that service levels meet and or exceed the needs of our customers
  • Conduct review of service challenges and build and implement corrective actions to improve service.
  • Collaborate with Dock Operations and the Linehaul Team to identify operational efficiencies and effect change as necessary in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead by example a group of dispatch supervisors.
  • Recruit, manage and guide a group of City and Highway Drivers.
  • Work with Safety and Compliance to maintain driver files & implementing discipline as necessary
  • Lead City Supervisors in scheduling of equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure Drivers follow Company Safety Policies and Procedures for example: HOS,
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc
  • Hold daily driver meetings to provide training and feedback on customer challenges.
  • Completion of daily reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:


  • 5+ years of experience in Transportation
  • Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
  • Listening, leadership and teamwork skills
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Selfmotivated and a desire to continually improve
  • Energetic, creative thinker with a competitive desire to continually meet goals and exceed expectations
