Position Purpose:


As a car and truck rental company, the Fleet Managers position is to keep our fleet of vehicles maintained and running efficiently.

The Fleet Manager performs his/her duties using fleet management software, constantly striving to prevent setbacks and overall fleet operational interruptions.

The Fleet Manager ensures that safe and reliable vehicles are available each day to meet all rental needs, as well as oversees and directs the fleet department team to address all breakdowns.


Essential Functions and Basic Duties:


  • Improvement of fleet administration standards and policies for vehicle operation
  • Overall cost analysis and control of cost expenditures
  • Ensures that all vehicles undergo preventative maintenance and needed repair
  • Maintain electronic database of expenses, inspections, breakdowns, and vehicle maintenance
  • Ensure fleet availability to meet all needs of rentals, as well as customers
  • Tract and maintain fleet utilization in relation to rental needs so they can fully and efficiently operate
  • Preemptively organize and schedule around rental seasonal planning (i.e., Nursery season, summer demand, winter demand, etc.)
  • Oversee vehicle registration, insurance, and claims department
  • Oversee routine and ad hock maintenance, and overall fleet management
  • Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local, provincial, and federal rules and regulations
  • Maintain and monitor data management system to organize fleets as per various schedules and requests
  • Plan and prepare annual budget, expenditures and analyze all financial objectives.
  • Facilitate and implement corrective actions to manage entire fleet, achieving company objectives.
  • Manage a team of staff
  • Take roadside calls from customers and problem solve

Fleet Maintenance and overseeing of:


  • Breakdowns
  • All scheduled maintenance
  • Appearance & detailing
  • Insurance Renewals & Claims
  • Decals & Warranty
  • Government Regulations

Claims Management and Follow Up:

Repair and transferring of vehicles under claims

Revenue and expense data analysis

Claims reconciliation

Fleet Profile:Cars, Minivans, SUV's, Pickup Trucks, 10-15 Pass Vans, 24 Pass Buses, Cargo Vans, - 5 Ton Moving Box Trucks & Flat Decks. Variety of Makes & Models

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in truck fleet management,
  • Knowledge of Heavyduty equipment/hydraulics system,
  • Strong troubleshooting skills,
  • Have a mindset of "roll up sleeves" attitude,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation,
  • Computer literate with experience using MS Office and fleet management systems
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment,
  • Willingness to work the required hours to complete the job,

Education:
University or College diploma/degree, leadership training, management experience and/or any additional preferred training experience


Experience Required:
At least 2 years of related experience in fleet management and automotive maintenance and upkeep


Skills and Abilities:

Full Time, Career Opportunity

Available to work Mon - Fri, daytime hours, closed Sundays.

Available for On-Call, after hours Roadside Assistance as needed
