for the day shift. This position reports into the Production Maintenance Supervisor, and is based in Guelph, Ontario.

What will you do
The Maintenance Technician will maintain all Manufacturing Equipment and perform daily support of all processes.

You will lead solving problems with Technicians and operators, perform PM and Calibrations as per the Maintenance plan and through your participation in improvement and maintenance projects you will liaison with Engineering and other support groups.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist Technical Operators and Setup Technicians, Maintenance Technicians and Engineering with the identifying and correcting all Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic problems with production equipment.
  • Support I nstructing, guiding, and advising the activities of new and existing technicians within the team to demonstrate our combined technical abilities.
  • Actively participate in Company training programs and events to maintain knowledge and understanding of our processes and procedures.
  • Complete maintenance requests, and assignments according with the applicable SOP. Monitor and maintain/ repair production equipment within the facility.
  • Work to achieve a high standard of accuracy and completion of critical activities such as but not limited to PM, Documentation completion, 5S, Safety, CMMS, Calibrations, Continuous improvement, and clear communication.
  • Implement the PM and Cal daily as per schedule and implement the schedule as planned. Work effectively using resources such as electrical and mechanical drawings in diagnosing equipment problems and for ordering replacement parts efficiently and effectively while finding opportunities for improvements.
  • Assist with calls for support from others (e.g., Production, Engineering) in a timely fashion to maintain high efficiency levels and collaboration. As technically skilled individuals we require mínimal supervision/ direction from Leadership in resolving or prioritizing issues.

Education, Experience and Skills:


Required Qualifications

  • 433A Millwright Journey persons certificate, Electrician 442A or 309A ticket
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Strong skills for problem solving and electrical/ mechanical problem solving
  • Good mechanical proficiency and ambition to learn mechanical principals
  • Good documentation practices
  • Digital literacy (Ability to learn Apps and Software)

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience with equipment commissioning, validation, and problem solving
  • Experience in GMP environment, Maximo PM systems
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical R&D
  • TIG welding
