You as an Electrical Estimator will:

  • Involve in pre-construction estimate preparation, early-stage budget and guaranteed maximum price submissions as well as design build and stipulated price estimate submissions.
  • Provide expert estimating services for hyperscale data centers, industrial & manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical facility, and labs, from RFP through to construction completion.
  • Managing key relationships with the client, subcontractors, and site project management team.
  • Assist in the bid process while building strong relationships with subtrades and manufacturing representatives.
  • Capable to layout electrical system concepts and select proper equipment.
  • Assemble accurate, timely, and wellorganized estimates, including hardbid, construction management, and designbuild in a methodical and systematic manner.
  • Coordinate with Architect/Civil/Structural/Mechanical estimators for scope delineation and matrix.
  • Organize subcontractor budgets & quotes during design stages/Phases, and when the bid is successful, rewriting binders, and assisting project management team for buyout process and subcontract negotiation.
  • Review subtrade budgets/quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern, scope gaps, and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the budget and bid prices.
  • Maintain estimating databases, including labour rates, equipment and material pricing, and project costs, for future reference.
  • Review drawings and tender documents to understand the scope of work and submission requirements.
  • Attend client/consultant budget and bid review meetings. Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients, architects and consultants, specifically subtrade contractors, manufacturing representatives and suppliers.
  • Recognizes risks related to projectspecific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions /constraints.
  • Completes full quantity takeoff of all labor, equipment, and materials for medium to large projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior estimators.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Knowledge of
    Accubid or similar estimating software.
  • Intermediate/Senior experience working for Electrical contractors, or construction estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • You have a working knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts.
  • Experience on capable of working on conceptual estimates with mínimal information on Data Center, industrial and pharmaceutical plants, and labs, special mission critical projects, and designbuild projects.
  • Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand engineering drawings, scope narratives, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is essential.

Qualifications

  • University/College degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, and/or fieldrelated experience.
  • Demonstrated estimating experience including time spent in mission critical including data center, pharma, industrial or life science sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing estimates throughout the project lifecycle and phasing.
  • Confident reviewing Electrical Subcontract packages and buyout.
  • Ability to layout concept drawings/sketches for mechanical systems, based on architectural conceptual designs.
  • Technical knowledge of construction industry matters, such as value management and value engineering.
