Job Summary
- Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Project Coordinator
- Communication & Grants
Key Responsibilities
- Implement strategic communication plans by preparing, managing, and distributing communication materials.
- Manage communication plans for DalTRAC including the maintenance of DalTRAC websites and social media platforms.
- Develop grant proposals in consultation with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research staff.
- Plan and organize events including securing event space, organizing catering, tracking invitations, assisting with promotion, providing support and ensuring the successful execution of the event.
Note
- Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work inperson on campus.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in urban planning, public administration, environmental science, management, or related field with a minimum of 1 year of related experience, preferably in project coordination or communications.
- Experience writing funding proposals and coordinating multidisciplinary academic grant proposals.
- Experience in transportation, urban planning, or related research.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and partnerships.
- Strong ability to work independently to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products.
- Sound behavioral competencies including teamwork and cooperation, innovation, leadership, communication, impact and influence, and valuing diversity.
Assets
- Master's degree in urban planning, public administration, environmental science, management, or related field.
- Experience working in an academic environment.
- Good understanding of the grant writing process and/or experience writing compelling funding proposals.
- Graphic design experience.
