Job Description:

SSENSE is looking for an Information Security Operations Manager to join our rapidly growing technology team.

They will work seamlessly with our Platform and Development teams to drive all aspects of securing SSENSE's corporate infrastructure, information and the design, build, and automation processes of our operations.

We're seeking a security expert with experience in designing and managing security operations enterprise-wide.

As a member of the SSENSE Information Security team, you will work to proactively identify threats to the environment and propose solutions to secure them.

You will work with all other IT teams to establish best practices in ensuring the on-going operations and security of IT services at SSENSE.

While you must be able to communicate effectively with respective stakeholders to help them understand security issues and solutions, you must bring a "hands-on" approach to the role.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Operations Strategy

  • Understand the corporate technology landscape at SSENSE, continuously identify areas for improvement and drive those improvement projects in line with the overall cyber security & compliance program.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and evangelise the benefits of a strong cyber security and risk management posture to the organisation
  • Continuously develop sharp technical skills, quickly getting up to speed on new technology, trends, types of vulnerabilities, exploits and risks to SSENSE's information assets

Security Operations Activities

  • Manage vulnerability remediation and incident handling across all technology assets at SSENSE
  • Maintain oversight and governance of security monitoring solutions and ensure timely and appropriate response
  • Implement new security technologies as required to support a dynamic/challenging business environment
  • Identify operational opportunities to implement security orchestration and automation capabilities
  • Manage on call schedule and incident escalations
  • Lead the mitigation of reported risks from continuous monitoring solutions. Support risk management strategies through data using tools like data dog or other log analysis tools
  • Manage transition plans for major upgrades or patches
  • Diagnose and investigate unique and complex systemic problems
  • Manage security vendor products (e.g., Cisco, EDR, AV, web content filtering, DLP, etc)
  • Conduct forensic reviews of platforms, systems and devices during and post incident, ensuring that data is properly handled and chain of custody is preserved for potential presentation in court
  • Assist in the implementation and delivery of formalised information security awareness programs

Reporting and Analytics

  • Support annual renewal and budgeting needs
  • Build and manage dashboards and reporting to evaluate and track effectiveness and evolution of security operations measures, including security operations performance indicators and key security risk indicators
  • Establish and chair monthly security operations governance meetings

People Leadership & Development

  • Build a team of highly capable security operations personnel who maintain security for system environments working with internal staff and external service providers
  • Lead hiring efforts and conduct interviews to attract and retain top talent
  • Hold weekly oneonones, conduct performance reviews, analyze individual KPIs and assess promotion readiness to help each contributor evolve in their roles
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to gage and monitor team engagement and implement solutions to create a transparent, collaborative and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to establish the short term objectives for the department and ensure team's are engaged towards achieving the department's missions

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in Security or Information Technology
  • A minimum of 3 years leadership experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with Public Cloud (AWS, Google or Azure)
  • Strong experience with corporate security technologies such as firewalls, antivirus software, End-Point Detect & Respond (EDR), Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) solutions, etc.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows System Administration
  • Experience with scripting automation using Python, Bash a
