    Description

    Unit Summary

    The Cardiac and Vascular Program services the needs of inpatients and outpatients with cardiac disorders (valvular, electrophysiological, adult congenital and coronary artery) as well as patients with vascular disease. The program provides advanced cardiac and vascular care services including such procedures as cardiac catheterization, cardiac angioplasty,cardiac surgery, electrophysiological procedures and vascular surgery.

    Position Summary

    Provide full secretarial support to the Cardiac and Vascular Clinical Managers including human resource process, liaison with payroll, generation of budget reports, setting of meeting, minute taking, preparation of correspondence and supplies ordering.

    Schedule Work Hours

    Monday to Friday days

    Qualifications

    1. Graduate of Community College Business Secretarial Program or equivalent
    2. Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
    3. Experience with report generation from budget tool
    4. Knowledge and experience with human resource processes related to new hires and staff transfers
    5. Excellent transcription and minute taking skills
    6. Proficient keyboarding skills (60 WPM.)
    7. Demonstrated proficient computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database systems for example, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, Windows 98,
    PeopleSoft, Meditech System.
    8. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain various databases and generate reports from these databases
    9. Demonstrated excellence in effective communication and interpersonal skills within a professional environment
    10. Effective problem-solving abilities
    11. Ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities
    12. Demonstrated ability to meet project and task deadlines, excellent organizational skills
    13. Demonstrated ability to develop systems that create efficient work flow
    14. Demonstrated ability to appreciate confidential nature of position
    15. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
    16. Demonstrated interest in new learning
