Company Description
Ostrom Climate is a global leader in the design, development, and implementation of GHG reduction programs at all scales.

We have developed some of the world's largest carbon projects including the Great Bear Forest Carbon Project, which is North America's largest Improved Forest Management project and the world's largest forest carbon project by area.

In the Philippines, Ostrom Climate explores GHG emissions avoidance through alternate wetting and drying in rice production. Forest carbon offsets are also being developed together with Philippines-based private sector groups and civil society organizations.

Ostrom Climate also collaborates with the Embassy of Canada and the Philippine government agencies to develop policies relevant to the development of carbon projects.


Objectives of the Assignment


The Operations Manager (OM) will support the project team to improve the day-to-day operations and achieve a seamless project delivery.

The OM will help in mobilizing the team to accomplish all documentary and reportorial requirements of the project including the compliance of the project with national regulations and global standards.

He/she will closely work with Ostrom Climate Philippine's Country lead, the UPRIIS AWD Project lead, and Ostrom Climate's Director for International land-use.


Scope of the Assignment

  • Liaise between Vancouver, Manlia and Munoz offices, ensuring seamless and timely communication between parties.
  • Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • Develop, implement, and review processes and procedures

Identify quality control issues and offer ways to improve:


  • Support the formulation of strategic objectives for different project teams:
  • Assist in determining the project's requirements, budgetary needs and cash flow

Delegate competently and confidently with emphasis on appropriate staff metrics

  • Help promote an organizational culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications Requirements and Experience

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field of Agriculture or other equivalent academic discipline;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the agriculture projectrelated field particularly with emphasis on alternate wetting and drying and greenhouse gas analysis;
  • Proven work experience within agricultural or international development agencies or related organizations;
  • Operational analysis skills and human resource management experience;
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports or documents
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cashflow management.
  • Excellent communication skills, and proficiency in English and Filipino, are a must (oral and written);
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work with mínimal supervision;
  • Willingness and ability to learn and use new technologies
  • Must be comfortable working in a paperless office
  • Conscientious, hardworking, and highly organized with superior attention to detail
