    Your team will lead development of a HWF monitoring and reporting program that supports Governments mandate to provide oversight of how the health system is functioning, including the functioning of the health workforce.

    In addition, your team will lead reporting on the health workforce to support HWF planning within Government, and respond to non-physician HWF data reporting needs for internal Government stakeholders who rely on this information for decision making.

    You will establish standards and timelines for the program and collaborate on the development of the unit's relevant HWF information sharing products.

    Through best practices in data reporting, you will work with the Director to develop, implement, and evolve the unit's monitoring, oversight and reporting structures.

    You will help inform the development of a HWF data dashboard and lead development of an oversight and monitoring program that tracks progress under the provincial Alberta Health Workforce Strategy (AHWS.

    To do this work you will utilize strong project management and facilitation skills to engage other program areas, learn their data information and reporting needs and seek new opportunities to generate value from reporting on HWF data.

    You will approach this work with a systems perspective, developing collaborative relationships, and engaging others to build a more mature HWF data reporting culture in Health.

    Provide timely data reporting to ensure Government is informed by relevant, accurate qualitative and quantitative non-physician HWF information.

    Build and maintain a regular reporting program for leadership that enables effective workforce planning and supports decision-making across Government.

    Respond to action requests (ARs) for briefing notes and other correspondence, and develop processes to manage ad hoc reporting requests, as needed.

    Establish quality assurance and maintenance processes so that reporting is accurate and consistent, working with department and other key business colleagues to facilitate understanding of non-physician HWF data findings.

    The Department's HWF monitoring, and oversight program ensures transparent, clearly defined parameters for the platform and reports results to Division leads in a timely, consistent and scheduled manner.

    Develop and implement a HWF data monitoring and oversight program using defined HHR data mapped to each pillar under the Alberta Health Workforce Strategy .

    This includes review and version control, cross-training unit team members to facilitate general understanding of the monitoring and reporting program.

    Providing for accessible information products meet GoA HWF data needs.

    Orientate Department staff to the HWF monitoring and oversight program and reporting process so that program areas are aware of non-physician HWF date available to assist their work.

    Establish intake processes to coordinate requests for regular reporting products or ad hoc non-physician HWF data requests to facilitated decision making within government.

    Identifies and manages required change and the associated risk.

    Communicating specified HWF data in response to client requests as well as, providing input to client reports where non-physician HWF data can add value.

    Utilize strong project management and facilitation skills to elicit, understand and respond to non-physician HWF data needs of clients.

    The following will be considered significant assets:
    Broad knowledge of non-physician HWF data information and how it connects to business needs in other departments.
    Knowledge of data reporting science and other HWF data information products

    Complex, data reporting problems:
    When things go wrong in data reporting to clients, the issues can be confusing and complex.

    The Manager will have the ability to manage relationships, providing transparency, reassurance and explanations in a calm and professional manner.

    The organization knows that it needs to improve HWF data reporting and non-physician HWF planning, but not always, what that means.

    The Manager envisions new ways to mature data reporting in the Department and improve health workforce planning within Government.

    This is a full-time position working 36.The final candidates may be required to undergo pre-employment checks (Reference check/Criminal record and/or academic).
