Content Development Assistant

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Content Development Lead and Specialists, the Content Development Assistant will assist with item writer recruitment, training and commissioning, content review and editing, audio/video production, workflow maintenance, form assembly, item performance analysis, and other tasks and projects as needed.

As soon as possible.


Location of position:
Remote (based in Vancouver, Canada)


Responsibilities:


The Content Development Assistant's main responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning and giving feedback to item writers on assignments
  • Reviewing, editing, and entering test content into the item banks
  • Preparing content for copy editing and audio/video recording as needed
  • Facilitating audio and/or video recording sessions as needed
  • Assisting with the management of the freelance item writing team
  • Monitoring content deliverables and deadlines to maintain the workflow
  • Reviewing and preparing content to support instructional products
  • Assisting with regular and special accommodation form assembly
  • Interpreting item performance data to inform content editing and banking
  • Assisting with test security investigations and other projects as needed
  • Making updates to procedural guides and/or other documentation

Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in English, linguistics, language teaching, education, or a related field
  • Experience in education, testing/assessment, statistics, and/or curriculum design an asset
  • Familiarity with or knowledge of ESL, EFL, and/or EAP populations
  • ESL/EFL teaching experience or speaking/writing rating experience an asset
  • Highly proficient English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent clerical and organisational skills with exceptionally strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently within a dynamic, teamoriented environment
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel and SQL an asset)
  • Ability to work remotely from home
Residency Requirements
