Job Description Mission**We are looking for a Certified Prevention Officer - an accredited workplace health and safety coordinator - to join our team at CIMA+. Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health, and Safety, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of OHS on construction sites for various clients in the greater Quebec area. Our diverse and challenging projects are sure to please you You will be in charge of planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all activities related to the prevention of dangerous situations, accidents, and workplace injuries. You will ensure the respect of the construction safety code and the compliance with prevention programs.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections, document the observations and the discipline measures
  • Analyze atrisk situations, comment on, or approve work methods being used
  • Greet workers coming to the site, keep the visitor log uptodate
  • Lead and document the health and safety committee meetings and, as needed, participate in safety briefings
  • Intervene in the case of a near miss, and take necessary measures to eliminate the risks
  • Participate in investigations following an incident on site and accompany the CNESST inspector during his interventions

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS), a bachelor's degree or any other relevant diploma
  • Mandatory security guard / workplace health and safety coordinator accreditation for construction work sites, emitted by the CNESST
  • Minimum of five years' proven experience as a security guard / workplace health and safety coordinator
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to health and safety
  • Mastery of the Safety Code for construction work
  • Mastery of the standard microcomputer tools from the MS Office suite (Word, Excel) and good writing skills
  • Experience in the railway industry is a strong asset
