We are looking for a systems administrator to take a leading role in managing all computer/network hardware across our laboratory/office spaces as well as administer and support a variety of cloud based SAAS platforms.

As one of the early members of a growing department, you will have an integral role in shaping the future of IT infrastructure and culture at Genecis.

This is a hybrid role that supports remote work whenever possible but will require flexible on-site availability at an average of 1-2 days a week between our Scarborough and downtown Toronto locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee relations with our MSP contractor which provides helpdesk and general IT support. Including planning IT projects and vetting approaches/estimates.
Administer (provision accounts, licenses, permissions, etc) and support end users across our range of software usage (Office 365, Azure, other industry specific software and SAAS platforms)
Enforce data and file management policies and procedures, including administrative assistance in organizing SharePoint document libraries, particularly in relation to project management.
Procure, install, configure and maintain the computer/server/network portions of laboratory and office equipment across our sites.
Produce and maintain meticulous documentation across IT systems.
Advocate strongly for cybersecurity best practices wherever applicable

Qualifications:

Postsecondary degree in relevant IT field, or equivalent work experience
Experience installing and configuring computers, printers, and network enabled equipment
Experience implementing/actioning security principles and best practices
Strong knowledge of windows operating systems, exposure to mac and linux operating systems
Strong written and oral communication skills
