JOB OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), the purpose of this position is to support national efforts, including digital transformation and to improve the organization's effectiveness and efficiency through the successful management and delivery of projects.

This position develops and applies standardized project management methodologies to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and on-benefit.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:


  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communications channels with senior leadership and internal business clients across all business functions to understand business needs, direction and intent.
  • Incorporates effective change management controls, and develops and executes change management plans to ensure the effective adoption of new business processes and tools.
  • Responsible for delivering the projects ontime, onbudget, onbenefit as agreed with the stakeholders. Delivers consistent, timely and accurate status reports by developing and tracking project KPIs and maintaining project control documents (project schedules, sprints schedule, MVP, risk mitigation logs, RAID logs, budgets, etc).
  • For Agile projects, conducts PI (program increment) planning sessions, creates/maintains sprints schedule, runs scrum meetings, calculates sprint velocity, identifies and removes barriers for the team.
  • Effectively manages vendor relationships through the lifecycle ensuring adherence to contract, SOW, SLAs.
  • Ensures that projects are welldefined with clear and agreed MVP and measurable objectives, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner.
  • Works with the technical leads to support team members in identifying, securing and coordinating the engagement of internal and external resources, vendors and expertise to achieve project objectives.
  • Identifies and manages dependencies between programs and projects that will affect priority sequencing and resource allocation decisions.
  • Supports the assessment of emergent projects (e.g. for strategic alignment, likely project impact) and prepares insights and recommendations to improve the likelihood that projects are delivered ontime, onbudget and onbenefit.
  • Supports the development of departmental processes, tools and resources related to effective project oversight (such as dashboards, KPIs, budget impact, strategic alignment) and project management (such as templates for business cases, charters, risk assessment and reporting/tracking mechanisms).
  • Represents and promotes the PMO to the rest of the organization, and drive the understanding and consistent usage of its project methodologies.
  • Supports team members and facilitates professional development at CCS through leadership, coaching and training.
  • Actively contribute to our culture of justice, belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring that all staff feel represented and heard regardless of their gender, age, religion, ethnicity, and nationality or race.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Advanced user of both waterfall and agile project scheduling software.
  • Experience in executivelevel engagement and communication.
  • Experience in remotely managing crossfunctional teams.
  • Experience with onboarding and managing vendors and external partners to ensure alignment with project success criteria and delivery.
  • Experience managing developing and managing budgets over $1m.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience managing or supervising staff is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and French is an asset.
