Seasonal Labourer
Position Profile:
The seasonal Labourer will work alongside with Bobby's Birches' employees to maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools and/or equipment.
Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following:sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking and weeding. _______________________________________

This position reports to the supervisor of Bobby's Birches

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twinaxel vehicles, chain saws, electric clippers and sod cutters
- Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers
- Care for established laws by aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
- Remove trees, trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears or chain saws.
- Gather and remove litter.
- Hauling.
- Maintain tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
- Qualified labourers will spray fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other ground features.
- Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds
- Blow/rake leaves.
- Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass or plant flowers or foliage.
- Haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.
- Advise customers on plant selection and care.
- Plan or cultivate lawns or gardens.
- Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes.
- Drivers of the company vehicles/machinery are responsible to check oil daily (log on check sheet) and keep vehicles neat and tidy
Job Related Competencies
- Pesticide Application and Dispenser Training an asset
- Valid Class 5
Salary:
From $20.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Saskatoon, SK S7M 2K5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- construction: 1 year (preferred)
