    Job Overview

    A hands-on Enterprise Architect with focus on Data and Integration who thrives in a dynamic work environment, this role involves working with different cross functional IT teams and business partners to extract the Pet Valu data and integration business needs, integration patterns, and propose enterprise data and integration strategies, solutions, and short-term and long-term roadmaps. This role will define and maintain enterprise data and integration development standards, best practices, and security, performance, reliability, operation policies that fit Pet Valu business needs. In addition, this role will instill an enterprise architecture mindset to cross functional teams and educate IT team members to follow best practices and guidelines.

    Essential Duties

    Develop and maintain the enterprise data and integration architecture strategy and roadmap to ensure the alignment of technology solutions with the organization's goals and objectives. Define, maintain, and enforce Pet Valu data and integration security, reliability, performance, operation standards, best practices, and policies. Working with different cross functional teams, including senior leaders, to gather Pet Valu Data and Integration business requirements. Extract integration patterns and define short-term and long-term integration roadmaps. Establish and implement a robust data management and governance framework to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. Drive the development of application and data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and other artifacts to ensure data consistency and standardization. Proactively explore modern, best in class integration technologies/platforms. Prompting the integration technology/platform to ensure a high performance, resilience integration and fit Pet Valu business and technology needs. Identify enterprise master data, define/align on the canonical schema. Travel as required. Other duties as assigned.

    Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications

  • At least 7 years of Information Technology related work experience in a professional environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience as enterprise architect with focus on Data and Integration.
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's in computer science or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to self-start, eager to learn.
  • Experienced in canonical and other architecture design patterns.
  • Experienced in BI data platform and ETL tools, such as Snowflake, Tableau, PowerBI, Talend.
  • Experienced in variety of integration technologies, such as mule Soft, Talend, Kafka
  • Experienced in API development, API gateways, and API management tools/platforms in GCP and or Azure.
  • Deep knowledge of modern data architecture, such as data mesh, data fabric, data lake, ... etc.
  • Experienced in Agile software development methodologies, source control, and automated testing and deployment.
  • Experienced in deploying and managing in-house/cloud-hosted application services.
  • Knowledge and experience in AI/ML and contribute to proposing new business/technology capabilities.
  • Knowledge about Retail systems, including point-of-sales, warehousing / distribution, and merchandising systems.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysts in requirements gathering, prototyping and requirements validation. Analyze and verify technical requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
