1 ‐ Full Time - Analyst, Budget and Financial Reporting

Financial Services
Under the general direction of the Manager, Accounting and Management Reporting, the Analyst, Budget and

Financial Reporting assists in leading the corporate‐wide budget preparation, analysis and planning submissions and

works with Capital Planning on its budget implementation and planning related to capital assets.

The Analyst works with leaders and the Manager in budget system development, processes, analysis and monitoring

of operational and capital budgets including statistical data and indicators. Liaises with directors and managers to

ensure complete and accurate budget data and meaningful explanation of variances. Assists designated department

heads in business processes and mandated reporting including preparation of budgets, proposals, monitoring,

trending and analysis.

On a monthly basis, prepares the organization‐wide operating and capital reports and completes the variance

analysis. Prepares and submits related Ministry reports including but not limited to Hospital Accountability Planning

Submission (HAPS) and SRI Hospital Reports in collaboration with other Analysts and Consultants.


EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or business‐related health care
field with preference for an individual actively working towards or already successfully conferred a Chartered

Professional Accounting (CPA) designation

  • Proven ability to work with staff and leaders at all levels of a complex healthcare/service sector organization to bring

  • Politically astute with working knowledge of the health care system
  • Superior skills in data management and manipulation using Excel (pivot tables, advanced filters, lookup functions,
development of macros

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize workload to meet various deadlines
  • Advanced business acumen
  • Working knowledge of the health care system
  • Advanced knowledge of Ontario Hospital Reporting/Management Information System standards and funding
methodologies

  • Knowledge and experience working with independent financial systems such as Virtuo/Medisolution, Meditech,
Quickbooks, Sage/Simply Accounting and ACCPAC


Assets:

  • Individual with or working towards their Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation

Salary Range:
$38.815 to 45.664
