The Opportunity:

This is a part-time position, working from home, Saturday evenings, and other days as needed (average 8 hours/week).


What you'll do:


  • Layout and design a high volume of newspaper pages, including fronts and feature pages, for our daily newspapers.
  • Responsible for ensuring highest standards of quality control.
  • Produce creative pages that adhere to strict style rules.
  • Work as part of a tightknit team in a highpressure environment to achieve excellence in newspaper design.

Who you are:


  • Superb layout and design abilities.
  • Strong typography skills.
  • Exceptional ability to spot errors in copy and layout style.
  • Well organized, with excellent communication skills and an ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign.
  • Ability to edit content is an asset.
  • Experience with Saxo CMS an asset, but not a requirement.
Applicants must be prepared to work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
