The maintenance team lead will directly report to the Maintenance Manager.

Required Education/Experience:


  • Five years of industry experience and two years of supervisory experience
  • Licensed as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
  • Possesses hands on mechanical and plumbing skills and operate various hand tools, saws and measuring devices
  • General working knowledge of electrical procedures and advanced knowledge of P.L.C.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work load assignments
  • Ability to read hydraulic and plumbing schematics
  • Fluency in English, any other languages a plus
  • Ability to work with a team and independently

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:


  • Able to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Basic Math and computer skills

Responsibilities:


  • Schedules and coordinates work flow within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite maintenance.
  • Reviews master maintenance schedules and work orders, establish priorities for specific maintenance, and revises schedules according to work order specifications, established priorities and availability or capability of workers, parts, materials, machines and equipment. In coordination with Reliability Engineer and Planner/scheduler
  • Maintains computerized maintenance system. in coordination with Planner/ Scheduler
  • Prepares maintenance schedules, calculating quantity of material parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Schedules jobs based on maintenance requirements.
  • Reviews purchase and process orders.
  • Receives production report and extracts information for departmental purposes.
  • Compiles and maintains parts and supplies inventory records. In coordination with storekeeper
  • Coordinates work flow with the various departments involved.
  • Prepares month end required
  • Responsible for the day to day management of Maintenance Tradesman in the department.
  • Supervises or assists in the repairs, maintenance and safety of machinery, Electrical and Mechanical equipment
  • Oversees the maintenance of plumbing, heating and wiring, plant and production equipment, while giving consideration to operating parameters, cost and customer requirements.
  • Strives to meet plant goals, including safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Ensures Health and Safety objectives are met.
  • Participates in meeting departmental staffing requirements.
  • Informs appropriate supervisor of existing and potential problems involving maintenance, personnel or product.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to ensure appropriate employee training and development is received by department employee
  • Evaluates the performance of probationary hourly employees in consultation with the Maintenance Manager
  • Enforces the Collective Agreement as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned.
