    Description

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Production Systems and supervise and coordinating activities of workers engaged in powder metal production. All work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International's Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required

    Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide safety leadership and direction, including: Provide for safe and proper training of all new employees and any transferred employees before placement on new jobs Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations Ensure proper safety records, accident reports, etc. are promptly reported and investigated. Ensure machinery and equipment are in safe working order Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel
  • Oversee Production Systems, 5S activities and Continuous Improvement activities including: Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products Observe production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers. Assign duties and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Enhance and maintain employee morale by providing good leadership skills and being a role model. Ensure all employees are treated equally and fairly and promote and direct team building activities for all employees. Acting as management representatives in all dealings with employees, peers, customers, etc. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate worker to achieve work goals

  • Maintain time and production records
  • Confer with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.

  • Our requirements :

  • University degree or College Diploma in a related field of work, is an asset
  • 3+ years' experience working in a Supervisory role capacity
  • 5+ years' work experience in a manufacturing industry, specifically automotive, is an asset
  • Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to increase employee engagement within the manufacturing plant
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and incorporate action plans
  • Working knowledge of the OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001
  • Proven knowledge and leadership in the principles and practices of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvements and progress manufacturing disciplines
  • Strong understanding of production processes
  • Proficient mathematical skills required with particular emphasis on accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills required, specifically in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment and manage priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal
  • First Aid Certification Required (or training will be required)
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
  • Office setting (20%)
  • Production Floor Setting- Environment can be noisy with variable temperatures (i.e. extreme heat)
  • Lifting may be required from time to time
  • Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental (may vary)
  • Able to work overtime when required/requested
  • Work in a fast pace manufacturing environment
