One Temporary (Up to 24 Months) Full Time Position.
Capital Power Corporation is currently seeking an innovative and results-oriented individual to join our Construction team.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Controls Specialist will play a key role in the supporting the construction of two utility-scale projects in Ontario.
You will contribute to our team by- The overall monitoring, forecasting, reporting, processing of the project.- Merging contractor schedules, permitting schedules, procurement schedules, etc.
to create the overall project schedule.- Overseeing the coordination of requisitions and purchase orders.- Providing feedback and recommendations for cost management to Senior Project Manager.- Following up, investigating and resolving cost issues.- Verifying, challenging, and confirming charges to the project from contractors and vendors.- Providing input to Senior Project Manager and the asset managers with regards to budgets, budget development and spending.- Analyzing and forecasting costing trends for the Assets, for both routine and project work and notifies managers and coordinators as necessary.
What you will bring to the roleEducation- Completion of a recognized trade certification and/or completed post-secondary degree.- Education equivalency may be considered.
Experience:
- 5years previous Construction Project Management or Project Controls. Preferred (but not required) project experience:
- Thermal (natural gas power generating stations).-
- Battery Energy Storage Systems would be an asset.-
- Electrical substations
Technical Experience:
- Required software experience:
- Oracle Primavera-
- MS Excel-
- Preferred (but not required) software experience:
- Oracle UnifierWorking Conditions:
- Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
- Work will be conducted in the Eastern Time Zone (Ontario).
- The "Home Office" will be Newmarket, ON or Windsor, ON.
