Under the responsibility of the warehouse manager, the delivery driver delivers Soprema products to customers' warehouses or to various construction sites in the region.

THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOU:

  • Make deliveries in an efficient, safe and courteous manner while respecting the highway safety code;
  • Drive a forklift;
  • Respect delivery routes and schedules;
  • Handle construction materials on construction sites;
  • Assume responsibility for the vehicle, its load, its safety while driving and that of others;
  • Carry out safety pretrip inspection of the truck, trailer, moffett, and any other required equipment as well as installing all corners, tarps and or material protection equipment as needed, also ensuring that all proper identification methods are followed in terms of placards;
  • The driver checks the total and axial loads in order to comply with the regulations;
  • Assists in preparation of orders, load and unload products, while keeping in mind the delivery instructions and or order preparation requirements;
  • All other related tasks as requested by the immediate superior.

THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR


THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Your education

  • High School Diploma (an asset).

Your knowledgen and competencies

  • Possess a valid Class 1 driver's license;
  • 5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles (an asset);
  • Possess an excellent driving record;
  • Fluency in English (bilingual English/French an asset).

Your skills And abilities

  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and organization;
  • Ability to follow company procedures and policies;
  • Punctual and courteous;
  • Teamwork and customer service;
  • Organizational skills for travel planning despite unforeseen events.

Working conditions

  • Safety jacket, and safety boots at all times;
  • Numerous temperature changes when travelling outdoors;
  • Monday to Friday, day shift, 40 hours a week (Overtime as required);
  • Cell phone provided.

Physical requirements

  • Good physical health (Handling of materials);
  • Frequent handling of heavy loads.
