Are you an analytical and empathetic person committed to ensuring fair treatment

of British Columbians? Do you want to have a meaningful impact on the lives of

members of the public experiencing diverse challenges with public services?

Reporting to the Manager of Intake and Early Resolution, the Complaints Analyst (CA) is an integral part of the Intake Team and is the first point of contact for all enquiries and complaints received by the Office of the Ombudsperson.

The CA works independently within a collaborative team environment to respond to members of the public who contact the office by phone or in writing with concerns about government services and agencies.

As the first point of contact, the CA responds calmly and professionally to diverse members of the public including those who may be upset, emotionally escalated or those who may be experiencing barriers.

The CA uses active listening and interview skills to gather information and conduct preliminary analysis of public complaints and enquiries.

The CA acquires all relevant information relating to their complaint or enquiry, records the information clearly and succinctly in the electronic case management system, identifies complaints that are jurisdictional or not and takes the appropriate action, including referral to external agencies or escalation to appropriate Ombudsperson staff.

This position interacts with a wide range of callers and must operate efficiently to gather information and use sound judgment to direct the calls as appropriate.

As BC's independent voice for fairness, our Office's work is challenging, meaningful, and rewarding. Join us and become part of a team that is proud of the work we do. Find out more information about what we offer here.

This posting is for two permanent, full-time opportunities. An eligibility list may be established to fill similar future vacancies in a full-time temporary or permanent capacity. Temporary positions may become full-time, permanent status. This position is excluded from union membership. Some travel may be required.
