Background & Purpose of the Job
The Customer Analytics Associate reports directly to the Analytics Lead. This position is responsible for providing analytical support & insights to Sales Teams within Canada.

The focus of the Customer Analytics Associate is to provide analytical support on Unilever's customers regarding customer management information.

Responsible for proactively analyzing and reviewing information on current business and identifying opportunities or potential problems within information being analyzed.


Examples of tasks include Customer Point of Sale data Scorecards, Performance reporting & takeaways, Sales trends and insights drawn from data, Customer Joint Business Planning support and Post Evaluation of Events and Recommendations.


Who You Are and What You'll Do

  • Draw observation and deliver trends & insights related to a Customer and category. You will be using diverse data sources including Customer Sales, AC Nielsen, Shipment information, competitive market activity, and internal planning sources
  • Executing and maintaining reports for performance, planning, forecasting and trends to aid in analyzing Unilever's and our customers' performance
  • When presented with a business problem, you will play a key role in leveraging data and visualization tools to aid in decision making and to illustrate insights and recommendations from data.
  • Helping to maximize efficiencies in both how and what data we use to deliver reporting as well as help the team make decisions
  • Providing metrics around historical promotional activity
  • Assist in preparation of reporting for business reviews and Joint business planning for the Customer
  • Deliver analytic insights that help the team decide optimal assortment recommendations for in store displayers
  • Creation and management of Field priorities to drive action in store with the Retail Team
  • Ad hoc analytic requests from different areas of the business including Brand and Trade
  • Receives information related to customer/consumer complaints and adverse reactions. Immediately notifies and provides collected information to Customer Service and CEC (Consumer Engagement Centre).
  • Collaborate with team within Unilever and customer to share best practice analysis

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Undergraduate degree required with 1+ years of analytical experience an asset
  • Experience with Nielsen and data manipulation (MTrack, Shopper Track (Homescan), etc.) an asset
  • Curious in nature and constantly seeking to learn
  • Works well in teams (as there is significant exposure to crossfunctional teams)
  • Personal leadership and Owners mindset
  • Selfmotivated, Service minded, solutionfocused attitude
  • Detail oriented, yet mastered the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
  • Strong analytical skills can leverage technology & tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Power BI or Data visualization to move from observation to insight. Experience with some of these tools an asset
