The Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI) Program is a provincial, population-based screening program that identifies permanent congenital hearing loss (PCHL) early on in an infant's life.

This ensures that follow-up and support can be provided sooner to infants and their families.

Working with a high degree of independence, the EHDI Program Advisor has demonstrated skills in research and evaluation, project management and health promotion strategies to support the implementation and maintenance of the provincial program.

Developing and maintaining strong working relationships is a key strength. Creativity in thought and strong political acumen are beneficial traits for this position. This is a temporary full time position.


Description:

The EHDI Program Advisor is responsible for: Managing and supporting various projects using a collaborative project management approach.

Includes writing project charters and work plans, updating project plans, coordinating project meetings, writing regular and ad hoc reports, and transferring deliverables to program operations.

Monitoring performance and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. Includes facilitating change management approaches in development and implementation of improvement initiatives and new services. Integrating health promotion best practices including communication, knowledge exchange and evaluation into all assigned projects. Reviewing evidence to inform best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as health promotion, public health, health sciences or other health care area. 3-5 years of progressive experience in collaborative project coordination and/or health program management work. Demonstrated success in developing and managing multiple health promotion, quality improvement or program planning projects with multi-stakeholder involvement. Experience working with healthcare providers or other professionals is an asset. Facilitation and consensus building experience with healthcare providers and other diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated experience producing deliverables for a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Lean, AHS Improvement Way, and other process improvement experience is an asset. Master's degree an asset. Project management experience is an asset.
