Job Summary:


The Pharmacy Technician training program is a 40-week diploma program that provides students with the theoretical, practical, and experiential learning experiences to prepare them for a career as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).

Instructor will act as a liaison between the students and the coordinator of the program.

This will include the counseling of students, curriculum development and keeping the coordinator informed of situations/concerns which could affect faculty/students and overall image and welfare of the College.

Take responsibility for P&L (Profit and Loss) by using the resources wisely and making the program profitable
. Ensure clinical facilities are used appropriately.

Ensure good communication between student, host employers and yourself.

A Pharmacy Technician with in-hospital experience is preferred. The Pharmacy Technician Instructor will report to the Pharmacy Technician Coordinator.


Key Responsibilities:


Student Related
- available to students
- expected to promptly identify "at-risk" students
- refer these students for appropriate assistance
- prepare mid-term evaluations
- daily attendance
- responsible for grading books, final grade sheets, and file copies of final exams within 72 hours of the last class session.


Faculty/Curriculum Co-ordination:


  • Prepare Administrative Course syllabus and Master Course Outline
  • Hand in two weeks prior to week punctually start and end classes and labs at the prescribed times
- be present during the prescribed hours of classes and labs
- can also expect to be observed each term and may be mentored by another instructor

  • Be familiar with the College's most current Policy and Procedure manual

Industry:

- keep current with changes in your field
- attend conferences in your field
- create and maintain a network of other professionals


Minimum experience:

1) 4 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician

OR
2) 2 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician

AND (_any one of the following_)
Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian
University or an equivalent degree.

OR
A graduate of a College of Applied Arts and
Technology or equivalent.

OR
A graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent.

OR
**Holder of a Certificate of Qualification under
the Trades Qualifications and Apprenticeship
Act or the Apprenticeship and Certification
Act or equivalent.


Hours:
Subject to availability.
