Cashier/customer Service for Retail Store - Lincoln, Canada - Midway Garden Centre

Looking for cashiers/customer service workers for our retail store of Midway Garden Centre. Multiple positions are available.

• Be able to stand for long periods of time
• Work in a fast pace environment
• Be comfortable with task reassignment
• Be able to organize and prioritize under time constraints
• Be able to work well with others and also complete tasks independently
• Be reliable
• Be physically fit, able to lift 30 pounds and more
• Have own transportation
• Provide a positive customer experience with friendly and courteous service
• In the retail area assist customers as needed (finding products, checking out, loading vehicles and assisting with customer issues and questions)
• Build a quick, lasting relationship with customers to ensure they enjoyed their visit
• Operating a cash register and collecting payment methods of cash, debit and credit card
• Maintain a clean/tidy safe environment
• Follow directions given by all Supervisors/Lead Hands

But not limited to also:

• Cleaning and transplanting plants
• Prepare and pack the products for shipping
• Move/space/sort product as required
• Assist in all areas of production as needed

Working Conditions:

• High physical effort is required (bending, twisting, lifting, walking)
• Work is normally performed in the greenhouse and retail areas
• Fieldwork when needed
• Temperatures can be cool/hot and humid
• Full weeks with long hours during harvest periods
• Weekends and holidays required when necessary to meet business/customer requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
• Effective communication skills
• Customer service skills
• Basic math skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to adjust schedule, tasks and prioritize when necessary to meet business needs

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal

Contract length: 4 months

From $16.55 per hour
