- Complete onboard and other logs
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Prepare accident reports
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems
- Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
- First Aid Certificate
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
- DZ class license
- Cable shovel, large or small
- Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction
- Road construction
