We are looking for reliable and hard-working Assistant Press Operators to join our growing team at our Lakeshore facility. Positions are
direct-hire and full-time.

Must also have own dependable transportation as we are located in the Lakeshore area and not on a bus route.

Job Title:
Assistant Press Operator

Our manufacturing company is currently seeking a skilled Assistant Press Operator to join our team.

The Assistant Press Operator will report to the Production Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting the lead operator with the operation and maintenance of the press to extrude aluminum in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the extrusion press machine
Follow set up procedures as per recipe file in the absence of lead operator
Use Ascona Measurement machine
Locate defects on extruded products
Check for conformance to specifications
Adjust controls as necessary
Clean the press area following LOTO procedure
Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery
Document work performed as required
Follow 5S system
Follow all safety procedures, and report anything that is unsafe to Supervisor
Other duties assigned when needed

Knowledge of extrusion press and process
Epics competency
Good organizational and communication skills
Effective time management and multitasking as necessary
Health and Safety
Follow safety procedures and protocols on the job, working in a safe manner, as well contribute to accident prevention by providing input and reporting things that are unsafe
5S 100% compliance to 5 S standards
Quality
Reduce flaws and maintain high quality in work and producing of products

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Ability to work in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work overtime as needed

Will be required to work 12-hour shifts on the weekdays (Mon to Thurs) or weekend (Fri through Sunday) with a monthly rotation from days to nights (6:00 am to 6:00 pm/ 6:00 pm to 6:00 am).
