  • AR/AP Specialist

    Safe Software is looking for an Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Finance team. In this role, your primary focus will be to support the day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable administrative functions and ensure that all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately. We are looking for someone with good knowledge of general accounting who has an exceptional attention to detail and is eager to continuously learn and contribute their ideas to the team.

    This position has the opportunity to be a hybrid position reporting into our Surrey, BC, Canada headquarters.

    About The Team

    The Finance team at Safe is responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the financial information and control system, handling day-to-day cash management of cash inflows and outflows as well as providing support to other departments. As a member of this group, you'll join a supportive team consisting of AR/AP Specialists, the Controller and CFO to collaborate on internal projects and maintain excellent vendor relationships.     What You'll Be Doing

    As an AR/AP Specialist, you will:

  • Process sales orders, invoices, and customer payments
  • Process vendor invoices and employee expenses
  • Reconcile customer and vendor accounts when necessary
  • Process purchase orders and ensure that they are
  • Pull and analyze reports for AR/AP
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Assist the team with ad hoc tasks and provide coverage for other Finance team members as required
  • Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

    Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with a diversity in skills and knowledge. That said, we find that those who are most successful in this role have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or AR/AP, or related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Experience with specialized reporting for AR/AP (aging timelines, net term dates, trends, data validation, event cost tracking, etc).
  • Technical skills: Experience working with Netsuite.Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Familiarity with Google Suite software (Google Docs, Google Sheets).
  • Exceptional customer service skills - You are able to prioritize the customer experience to ensure level of excellence.
  • Effective communication skills - You are able to communicate and articulate your thoughts and ideas clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail - You have good typing and data entry skills to ensure accuracy.
  • A curiosity to learn and contribute your ideas to the team.
  • A team player - you are able to work well independently and collaborate in a team setting.
  • A self-starter – you are able to set schedules, manage timelines, and are solutions-oriented.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and dynamic environment – you are not afraid of fast-paced change

  • A diploma or degree specializing in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Familiarity or experience with timesheet and expense tracking tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM.
