TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is seeking to fill a Human Resources Manager position in Pickering, ON.

Reporting Structure:


This position reports to the General Manager, Canada and will work very closely with the Director, Human Resources, USA to achieve key objectives.

This close collaboration on key projects is absolutely necessary for the success of this position.


Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.
  • Create and present employment agreements.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department. Ensure all policies and procedures are reinforced and practiced.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews and trends in separation.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Act as a resource to management and supervisory team. Work collaboratively with site managers and supervisors providing coaching and support.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of events, investigations, and discussions in an organized manner, in a variety of electronic and paperbased formats.
  • Train managers on administration of corrective action to employees. Guide corrective action administered to employees pertaining to identified performance concerns.
  • Provide employee relations support, including internal dispute resolution, legislation interpretation, policy and procedure interpretation, counseling, and employee communications.
  • Review existing HR policies and procedures, providing critical feedback to Director of HR USA in order to improve HR policies collectively.
  • Act as a resource to employees regarding career opportunities, personal development, management, employee relations, company policy, HR programs.
  • Participate in developing department goals and objectives
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment law/legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in industry safety groups improving accident rates, and company WCB rating.
  • Assist in efforts to improve safety culture throughout Ontario in effective employee performance management, alignment and engagement of employees in the delivery of departmental goals, and overall talent management.
  • Participate on committees and special projects as assigned and required.
  • Claims management for workplace and nonworkplace injury or disease including accident Investigations and filing claims with Worker's Compensation Boards.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, including workers compensation, FMLA, and OSHA
  • Ability to present business cases and/or proposals to corporate human resources
  • Ability to interface with management to resolve issues and to determine viable solutions
  • Strong customerfocus with good listening and clear message transmission capabilities
  • Strong communication skills verbal, written, and presentation
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues, make decisions and follow through for results.
  • Possess good judgment, knowing when to escalate issues to management.
  • Aptitude for continuous selfdevelopment with a willingness to learn new processes & technologies.
  • Selfmotivated and capable of multitasking.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material

Work experience

  • Experience working in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities.
  • Minimum of 58+ years of handson Human Resources experience preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, construction or other industrial focused industries.
  • Experience working for midsized organizations.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites

Education background

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a businessrelated discipline.
  • Human Resources based designation from a Professional Human Resources Association
