  • Due to the company's growth, we are hiring a Director of Construction. This pivotal role is instrumental in driving the success of our construction projects within the Commercial Design/Build environment. As a key leader, you will play a crucial part in leading our team towards achieving excellence in construction execution. About You

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert mentorship and leadership skills with the ability to create a cohesive team and facilitate alignment within and across departments;
  • Expert project management skills with an understanding of the triple constraint of cost, scope and schedule;
  • Excellent understanding of estimating, budgeting and forecasting;
  • Solid knowledge of building code, health and safety standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Strong familiarity with construction law, contract management, procurement procedures and local practices;
  • Organized, deadline driven, and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and manage tasks independently to drive results around tight schedules;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service;
  • Ability to quantitively and qualitatively analyse and design solutions to operational problems;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, and cloudbased software; and
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction software such as SiteMax, Smartsheet, etc.;
  • Experience
  • 8+ years' experience in a management role in the construction industry;
  • Experience
in the interior office construction industry required;

  • Experience
working in the design/build environment;

  • Experience
leading multiple projects of varying size and scope; and

  • Experience
building and adapting systems, processes, procedures and teams.

  • Credentials
  • Postsecondary degree preferred, ideally in a relevant field (business, project management, construction) ; and
  • PMP or PM certification is an asset.

  • As the Director of Construction at Aura, you will lead the planning and delivery of all construction work, ensuring efficient execution to achieve construction revenue aligned with financial forecasting that enables profitable operations for the Company. Your role involves overseeing project management, coordination, safety, and quality management in collaboration with the Preconstruction and Design teams. Through your expert leadership, mentorship and guidance, you will enhance client experience, boost employee productivity, and create exceptional value for the company.

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and implement execution plans;
  • Stay updated on office construction industry trends, pricing, and developments;
  • Identify, evaluate, and share knowledge, insights, best practices, and ideas companywide;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Preconstruction on Project Risk Management, Project Scheduling, and construction cost;
  • Lead the delivery of construction projects, ensuring commercial terms meet Aura's standards and local regulatory requirements;
  • Manage daytoday construction operations, including project assignment to construction staff;
  • Manage monthly project financial reporting to ensure accuracy and profitability;
  • Participate in project handoff and kickoffs, to ensure that schedules, budgets, mutual goals, guidelines, and communication rhythms are set and communicated appropriately;
