    Human Resources Business Partner

    Full-Time

    SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Staffing Clerk functions as a key team member and is responsible for staffing multiple departments within Perley Health. The Staffing Clerk will work professionally in a team-focused environment, upholding the vision, mission, goals and objectives of Perley Health, while adhering to all policies and procedures.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides comprehensive support to the HR team for general operations and policy development.
    • Monitors and manages attendance, absenteeism, leave requests and accommodations under the Attendance Management Program.
    • Maintains a state of health and safety awareness, ensuring risk minimization and implementation of control measures.
    • Delivers health, safety and wellness education to all staff and coordinates related educational programs. Assists with the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
    • Maintains thorough onboarding documents, including pre-employment requirements.
    • Provides managers, employees and unions with advice, support and guidance on a range of employee matters.
    • Acts as a liaison with the Ministry of Labour and WSIB, ensuring compliance and representing the Perley Health's interests.
    • Develops modified duty programs and other return-to-work measures, maintaining regular communication with internal and external partners.
    • Collaborates with Management to assess HR needs and develop strategies, improving work relationships and increasing productivity.
    • Supports the work of the Joint Health and Safety Committee by providing technical and specialist information as a member of the committee.
    • Educates employees on company policies, job duties, wages, benefits, and pension plans. Enrolls employees in applicable compensation programs.
    • Maintains accurate employee records in the Human Resources Information System, including any applicable changes from onboarding to employee departure.
    • Ensures the confidentiality of records, files and verbal and written communication.
    • Other duties as required.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of related experience in Human Resources.
    • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods, and best practices.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety, Human Rights, Employment Standards and any other applicable laws in a unionized environment.
    • Expertise in disability management prevention, modified duties and accommodation policies.
    • Experience in hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
    • Solid understanding of compensation practices, benefits and pension plan administration.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Certification in Human Resources related designations ( CHRP) is considered an asset.
