The Opportunity:
Are you someone with exemplary written communication skills, who excels in a deadline driven environment and works well in a collaborative team environment? If so, we may have the opportunity for you We are hiring an experienced Financial Analyst in our external Financial Reporting team
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Supervisor, you will be instrumental in the accurate and timely preparation of the Company's external quarterly and annual financial results.
You will also be responsible for coordinating with key areas of the organization including senior management and the internal SOX team, performing accounting research, as well as assisting with various projects.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, MD&A and supporting schedules in compliance with IFRS
- Assist in the review of external supplemental information
- Perform adhoc analysis for senior leadership
- Prepare financial statements for subsidiaries, pensions as well as insurance reporting
- Conduct technical accounting research and collaborate on the implementation of new accounting policies, including monitoring changes to securities regulations
- Identify opportunities and assist in implementing process improvements
Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years postCPA designation experience required; combination of industry and accounting firm experience is preferred
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail
- Selfstarter who can manage priorities in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment with the ability to navigate challenges and complexity
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required
- Experience working in Wdesk would be an asset
- Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry would be an asset
- Knowledge and experience working with internal controls within a SOX environment would be an asset
