Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete inspections and behaviorbased observations to identify noncompliance on the worksite; assign and confirm the completion of corrective actions including stopwork orders for unsafe acts or conditions
  • Participate in incident investigations including gathering witness statements, collecting pictures from the scene, and assigning and monitoring resulting corrective actions
  • Conduct safety meetings, joint health and safety committee meetings, and company orientations for new workers at client sites
  • Assist in the development of ERPs and conduct evacuation drills
  • Develop formal hazard assessments, safe job procedures, and safe work practices
  • Prepare bulletins, memos, lessons learned, and reports to encourage fullscale client safety initiatives
  • Assist in the completion of special projects as assigned by management
  • This role requires both field and office work field work takes place in Calgary and the immediate surrounding areas

Qualifications/Certifications:


  • Safety designation such as CSO, NCSO, etc.
  • Industry standard tickets such as CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, CSO, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection etc.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills ability to maintain and develop client relationships
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Organized with the flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
  • Above average computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Follow strict confidentiality requirements and promote respectful workplace actions
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations in Health and Safety
  • Strong motivation for continuous learning and improvement
  • Auditor status with certifying partners is considered an asset
  • Travel to client sites in Calgary and the immediate surrounding area is required
  • Direct experience in construction (residential and commercial) and manufacturing is considered an asset
