Position Summary:


Reporting to the Events Manager, the Corporate Events Student will support the Events team but also cross functionally get a chance to support initiatives across the Strategic Communications team.

The student will assist with in planning and executing events across the family of companies.

This may include, but is not limited to, development of key planning documents (timelines, budgets, plans etc.), helping execute events onsite, and working cross functionally across the organization.

Specifically, the co-op will support Corporate events, which includes virtual, in person, and hybrid events with employees.


Responsibilities:


  • Support events of various sizes and budgets from research to execution
  • Support crossfunctional and internal teams to program plan including timelines, objectives, and budget;
  • Support the development of key event materials including SOWs, budgets, plans, etc.;
  • Support of event budget reconciliation;
  • Liaise with and provide support to Canadian Tire Corporation's external agencies and internal business units to manage key activations, utilize assets, and develop strategic plans that support the business objectives;
  • Potential supporting Events' portfolio across all banners, including Canadian Tire Corporation, Mark's, SportChek & PartSource;
  • Working on projects from start to finish (from research and ideation stage, to planning, to execution of events, to postevent reflection).

What you'll bring:


  • Currently enrolled in postsecondary program in Marketing, Business administration, Project Management, Event planning, Communications or related discipline
  • Exposure to event planning and/or project management;
  • Knowledge of industry trends in event marketing;
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, prioritize and deliver programs and tactics on time to budget in a fastpaced, deadlineoriented environment;
  • Exceptional relationshipbuilding skills, both internally and externally;
  • Selfstarter with demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and creativity;
  • Experience with Canva, Swoogo an asset
