Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive support to the daily operations of the HR and Payroll team, contributing to the efficient and professional delivery of HR programs, processes and services across the organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Provides support to Managers in all day to day operational HR Matters.
  • Lead all internal workplace investigations, where needed.
  • Manage and update job position profiles and prepare job postings, collect and review resumes, perform prescreening, coordinate interviews.
  • Perform onboarding of new employees by conducting orientations and updating relevant HR records and files, and tracking all required onboarding training.
  • Create, update and maintain all electronic employee files
  • Act as the point of contact for Union related inquiries, and issues.
  • Leads, executes or participates in HR projects, programs and initiatives in a way that supports internal equity, fairness, engagement, and the company's competitiveness
  • Provides guidance and advice, and counsel on performance and HR matters to supervisors and employees. Escalates issues of greater concern to leadership or where appropriate, outside counsel
  • Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, filing and coordinating training sessions
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, regarding group and other employer benefits
  • Conducts exit interviews, identifies key issues and trends and makes recommendations as appropriate
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of staff events
  • Other duties, including HR Research and analysis, as assigned

Qualifications:


  • University or college graduate
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in transactional HR Administration.
  • Recent experience providing administrative support services in a busy environment
  • Experience using online recruitment techniques and tools
  • Experience managing employee onboarding and orientation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multitask with multiple competing deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential Effective presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Employment Standards Act
  • Experience using Ceridian Dayforce would be an asset.
