LCC and International Coordinator


Reporting to Manager, International and Exchange Students - Language and Culture Centre, the main role of the LCC and International Coordinator is to coordinate marketing and communications for the Language and Culture Centre and its associated global and short-term programs.

This portfolio will entail the incumbent leading the coordination of information sessions and creating communication plans and timelines for global experience projects, as well as working with partners to create promotional artefacts.

The incumbent will also lead the coordination of marketing and communications/awareness campaigns for global experience and short-term global projects as well for IP&R's social media strategy.

This role will also provide overarching coordination for Mohawk International's new student pre-arrival strategy.

A focus of this position will include the coordination for the creation, promotion and execution of pre-arrival webinars and workshops for new students, supporting new student housing considerations and liaising with cross-college resources to market pre-arrival information for students.


Responsibilities:


Position duties include, but are not limited to:

Pre-Arrival Coordination
-
Researching best practices at partner institutions and conducting needs analysis to provide best practices in supporting new students' pre-arrival needs

  • Creation, promotion and execution of prearrival webinars and workshops for new students
  • Vetting housing options for future students and providing recommendations in student consultations and information sessions
  • Working closely with other members of the International Partnerships and Recruitment team to deliver informative, timely and regionspecific prearrival communications and support
  • Creation, marketing and promotion of prearrival guides and information to students and agents
  • Liaising with crosscollege resources (example: International Student Services, Academics, Student Services) to understand, collate, and market prearrival information for students
  • Acts as a backup for the Student Arrival Coordinator when needed to ensure consistent delivery of arrival supports for students

Marketing & Communications

Co-ordinating the information sessions and creating communication plans and timelines for global experience projects (short-term partnerships, GLO, Explore, etc.)

  • Ensuring website and marketing materials are uptodate with testimonials, dates, reports, photos, etc.
  • Provides representation at college booths and fairs (e.g. Pathways Fair, International Education Week) for global experience initiatives
  • Gathering artefacts from outbound trips for collating into reports, videos, presentations, etc.
  • Working with internal and external partners to create global experience promotional videos
  • Coordinate marketing and communications/awareness campaign for global experience proposal processes
  • Lead for International Partnerships and Recruitment social media coordination and timeline planning, leveraging departmental support to ensure departmental coordination and targeted approaches.

Mohawk International & Community Facing Events & Outreach

Coordinates International Open House events to showcase the facility/space (J137) with International Partnerships and Recruitment team and other relevant stakeholders

  • Coordinates space needs for agent/delegation/external party visits and information tours
  • Ensures college is aware of Language & Culture Centre updates and activities by liaising with the Manager of Operations, Manager International & Exchange Students, and Marketing on the LCC or International marketing needs and strategy (e.g. wayfinding signage, brochures, postcards, etc.)
  • Represents the LCC at college orientation events such as Passport to Success, Start Smart, Day One, etc., in partnership with other members of the International Team.
