    Job Description:

    The Functional Safety Test Team at QNX is seeking a talented individual with a mind for details and passion for quality. QNX customers produce an exciting array of embedded products using QNX technologies, producing QNX-based systems in everything from automobiles to internet, from medical devices to space systems and from manufacturing to nuclear power plants. The candidate will be working with other team members to safety certify (ISO 26262 – Functional safety) software components. Technologies include Safety certified real-time embedded OS, BSP and drivers, networking stacks, and hypervisors. The roll will cover all aspects of testing include writing and executing manual tests as well as running, maintaining and developing automated test cases. The role requires working with hardware and accessing test labs, and not suitable for remote work.

    Responsibilities:

  • Manual and automated testing of safety certified real-time embedded software.
  • Create, update and maintain test plans, test specification, test cases and test reports based on ISO and/or similar standards) requirements.
  • Hands-on configuration, integration and testing of software deliverables on reference hardware.
  • Collaboration with other test and development teams
  • Debugging, analyzing test results, generating and updating defect reports, verifying resolved issues
  • Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent
  • Experience testing and/or training on ISO Functional Safety or other similar safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience writing test plans and test cases, executing tests and reporting results.
  • Experience developing automated tests - using C, C++ and Python
  • Familiar with Continuous Integration build systems (Eg: Jenkins)
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality software within timelines
  • Experience with source versioning systems (Eg: SVN, Git)
  • Knowledge of formal test theory, test methodology, and ISO-9001 quality management
  • Able to write clear and concise problem reports
  • Creative debugging techniques and persistent in finding solutions
  • Familiarity with various processor architectures (Eg: Intel and ARM)
  • Ability to work and participate in a team setting with an open, collaborative communication style
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm, a passion for quality and a desire to learn about new technologies is a requirement
