We are looking for an accountable and experienced General supervisor - building construction to join our team to perform a variety of tasks and oversee the construction process to ensure its successful completion.

What you will do

In this role, your responsibilities include completing construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; completing quality inspections; supervising sub-contractors and staff.

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of carpenters who construct, renovate, and maintain structures of wood and other building materials and build and install interior finishing in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings; and of cabinetmakers who construct and repair custom wooden cabinets, furniture, fixtures, and related products.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.
• Requisition materials and supplies
• Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity.
• Train or arrange for the training of workers.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed.
• Prepare schedules and other reports.
• May also supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers, and laborers.

Your experience and educational background:

• Completion of high school.
• 3 years of experience in the Construction Industry.
• 2 years experience in Lead Construction Role
• Journeyman/woman trades certifications.

Work Conditions

• Travel to offsite locations as required.
• Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steeltoed safety boots.
• Work both indoors and outdoors
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
